Everything we do flows from a simple calling:

OuR MISSION

We long to see Southwest Iowa and the greater Omaha region transformed by Jesus.

Change begins when everyday people discover Jesus and learn to follow Him in real life. It continues as families grow in faith, friendships deepen, and people step into the purpose God has for their lives.

We believe the local church is the hope of the world and God's plan for transformation. When people encounter Jesus, everything begins to change.

REAL JESUS. real bible. real life.
REAL JESUS. real bible. real life.
REAL JESUS. real bible. real life.

A Story

That Spans Generations

We have been part of the Council Bluffs community
for close to a century.

What began as small gatherings of people seeking God slowly grew into a church family committed to following Jesus and sharing His message.

Through the decades, the faces have changed, but the heart has remained the same. People gathering to worship, open Scripture, care for one another, and serve their community.

It is a story still being written. One life at a time.

Meet Pastor Eric Schall

We’ve served the Council Bluffs community for close to 100 years.

Pastor Eric has served as the Lead Pastor of Creekside since August 2020. His heart is simple and clear: he wants people who do not yet know Jesus to discover a relationship with Him, and he wants followers of Jesus to be equipped to live out their faith and serve others.

Eric holds a B.S. in Education and a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry, and he is currently working toward his Doctorate.

He and his wife Susi were married in 1995 and have two children, Ally and Josiah, who both love Jesus and have completed their college degrees. Beyond her support for Eric, Susi is an important part of the Creekside family, serving as one of our Pre-K teachers on Sundays. ...

what we believe

As an Assemblies of God church, our beliefs begin with Scripture and point to Jesus. These truths shape how we live, love others, and walk out our faith each day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. Scripture is our final authority for faith, truth, and daily living. Through it, God reveals who He is, how we are saved, and how we are called to live.

The One True God

We believe there is one true God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things and is perfectly holy, loving, and just. God desires a relationship with the people He created.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave. Through Him alone we receive forgiveness and new life through the Gospel.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. Every person must personally repent of sin and place their trust in Him for forgiveness and new life. When someone places their faith in Christ, their life begins to be transformed by God’s power.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is active today, drawing people to Christ, transforming lives, guiding believers, giving gifts to believers to live holy lives and empower for ministry.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to believers today. This empowering experience equips Christians to live boldly for Christ and to share the Gospel with power.

Spiritual Gifts and Divine Healing

We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers for the building up of the Body of Christ and the spread of the Gospel. We also believe God still heals and responds to the prayers of His people.

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ on earth. The Church exists to worship God, grow in faith, care for one another, and share the Gospel with the world.

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return again. His return is the blessed hope of the Church and will bring the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan.

Eternity

We believe Heaven and Hell are eternal realities. Those who trust in Christ will spend eternity with God, while those who reject Him remain separated from Him.

Where Community Comes to Life

Some of the best parts of church happen in the relationships that grow along the way. Groups and ministries help people connect, get to know one another, and walk through life together.
